Snacks are light, high-value and fragile: a single broken crisp or a leaking nut bag turns a premium product into a complaint. At the same time, extruded snacks and nuts are highly sensitive to oxygen and moisture, which cause rancidity, loss of crispness and short shelf life. Packaging therefore has to deliver three things at once: unbroken product, accurate weight and a protective atmosphere inside every bag.
WILPAC snack lines are built around gentle handling. Multi-head weighers with reduced drop heights and smooth chutes portion chips, nuts and extruded pieces with target weight accuracy while minimising breakage, and bucket elevators or vibratory feeders move product without abrasion. Seasoning drums can be integrated upstream so flavoured snacks are dosed, coated and packed in one continuous flow, with speeds typically between 60 and 120 bags per minute depending on pack size.
For shelf life, WILPAC integrates nitrogen flushing and modified atmosphere packaging directly into the VFFS or premade-bag machine. Residual oxygen can be pushed down to about 2 percent, and high-barrier metallised OPP/CPP, PET/PE or paper-laminate films hold the atmosphere for months. Formats include pillow bags with side gussets, stand-up doypacks with zippers, quad-seal bags and small single-serve sachets, with seal inspection and pressure or vacuum leak tests available on the line.
A complete WILPAC line covers feeding, seasoning, weighing, bag forming, nitrogen flushing, checkweighing, metal detection, case packing and palletising, with recipe management for quick changeover between SKUs.
