WILPAC Sauce and Condiment Packaging: Piston Filling and Anti-Drip Sealing for Viscous Products
Viscous products are among the most demanding materials on any packaging line. Tomato ketchup, chili paste, salad dressing, mayonnaise, honey and fruit jam all behave differently under pressure: they trap air, they string and drip after cut-off, and their viscosity changes with temperature. A filler calibrated in the morning can drift by the afternoon if the workshop heats up, and every gram of giveaway eats directly into margin on a high-volume condiment line.
WILPAC addresses this with servo-driven piston filling. Product is drawn into a cylinder by a piston and discharged through a positive-displacement stroke, so the fill volume depends on stroke length rather than on flow time or product pressure. Because the piston physically displaces the sauce, thick and chunky products with pieces of vegetable or fruit are handled without shearing or crushing. Hoppers can be jacketed and heated to hold product at a stable temperature, and an optional agitator keeps solids evenly suspended so the last bottle of a batch is filled to the same weight as the first.
Accuracy is only half the story; cleanliness decides whether a line is sellable to a brand owner. WILPAC filling nozzles use a shut-off and suck-back action that breaks the product string at cut-off and pulls a small amount of sauce back into the nozzle, which prevents drips from landing on the bottle shoulder or the sealing surface. A drip tray and quick-release product contact parts keep changeover short, and the whole filler is built in stainless steel for washdown. Downstream, servo capping applies a controlled and repeatable torque so caps seal without cracking, followed by induction sealing, labelling and coding in one continuous line.
For exporters, WILPAC configures complete condiment lines around the container: glass jars, PET bottles, stand-up pouches with spouts and small portion sachets are all supported on the same platform. Recipes are stored in the HMI, so switching from a 500 g honey jar to a 250 g chili sauce bottle is a matter of recalling a stored program rather than re-tuning the machine. Every line is tested with the customer's own product before shipment, and WILPAC provides installation, operator training and remote support.
