WILPAC Home & Personal Care Packaging: Integrated Lines for Detergent Powder, Liquid Soap and Wet Wipes

Household and personal care products are among the fastest-growing fast-moving consumer goods in the world, and they arrive at the packing hall in very different physical forms: free-flowing or sticky powders, low to high viscosity liquids, pastes, and pre-moistened nonwoven sheets. For detergent powder and similar granulated or agglomerated products, accuracy and dust control decide both cost and working conditions. WILPAC combines servo-driven auger fillers with multi-head weighers, depending on the flow behaviour of the product, and closes the loop with checkweighers that reject off-spec packs automatically. Negative-pressure dust extraction is fitted at the filling and sealing points, the contact parts are manufactured in stainless steel for easy wash-down, and anti-bridging hoppers keep sticky formulations moving. Dosing accuracy is held within a fraction of a percent, which on a high-volume line quickly adds up to a meaningful saving in giveaway.

Liquid detergents, dishwashing liquid, shampoo, shower gel and hand soap demand a different approach. WILPAC servo piston and gravity flow fillers are selected according to viscosity, and foaming products are filled with bottom-up, diving nozzles that rise with the liquid level to keep air out of the pack. Drip-free shut-off nozzles protect seals and labels, CIP circuits allow fast product changeover, and the same frame can be extended with capping, labelling, coding and shrink-sleeving modules. Servo recipe storage lets an operator switch from a 500 ml shampoo to a 5 litre detergent canister in minutes rather than hours.

Wet wipes add a further layer of complexity, because the nonwoven web, the lotion and the lid all have to come together at speed. WILPAC wet wipe lines fold, stack, cut and moisten the substrate with precise lotion dosing, then insert the stack into a tub or flow-wrap it into a refill pouch and apply a resealable lid that keeps the pack from drying out. Vision inspection verifies lid placement and label alignment, and metal detection plus checkweighing guard every pack that leaves the line.
