WILPAC End-of-Line Automation: Cartoning, Case Packing and Palletizing for Export-Ready Shipments
Most packing lines lose their profit at the very end. Primary machines run at 100 bags per minute while operators hand-load cartons beside them, tape cases by hand and stack pallets that lean by the time they reach the container. The WILPAC cartoner collects counted sachets, pillow bags or pre-made pouches, opens the carton with vacuum suction, inserts the product and closes with hot-melt glue or tuck-in flaps. Servo-driven pick-and-place heads handle fragile items such as biscuit sleeves and chocolate bars without scuffing, while leaflet inserters add instructions and promotion leaflets. Changeover between carton sizes is done from the touchscreen in under ten minutes, with stored recipes for every format a plant runs.
Downstream, case packers group cartons into corrugated cases using wrap-around blanks or pre-glued RSC cases, then seal with tape or hot melt and print or apply a shipping label. Every case passes a checkweigher and can be verified by vision before it reaches the palletizer. This matters for export: a missing inner bag discovered by the customer costs far more than the check that catches it, especially on long sea freight routes to Europe, the Middle East and South America.
Palletizing is where containers are won or lost.
