WILPAC Unveils Next-Gen IoT Smart Packaging Line: OEE Surges 35% with Predictive Maintenance
WILPAC Packaging Machinery has officially unveiled its next-generation IoT-enabled smart packaging line, achieving a remarkable 35% improvement in Overall Equipment Effectiveness. The line integrates over 200 high-precision sensors with edge computing gateways to collect and analyze production data across every stage of the packaging workflow in real time.
At the core of the system is a predictive maintenance engine powered by proprietary machine learning algorithms that continuously monitor vibration signatures, temperature gradients, and motor current patterns. The engine can forecast potential equipment failures up to 48 hours in advance, slashing unplanned downtime by over 60% and extending machine service life significantly.
A centralized digital twin dashboard provides plant managers with end-to-end visibility into the entire packaging process from primary material feeding through to final cartoning and palletizing. This enables data-driven production scheduling, remote troubleshooting, and real-time optimization across multiple production lines simultaneously.
WILPAC VP of Engineering confirmed that IoT connectivity is now standard on all new machine models, with modular retrofit kits available for legacy installations. The company has set an ambitious target to connect over 1,000 packaging machines to its cloud platform by the end of 2027, building the industrys largest smart packaging ecosystem.
